# How is the dead stock calculated in the app

**Dead Stock** refers to inventory items that have not been sold or used for a long period and are unlikely to be sold in the future. These items are essentially stagnant and can represent a financial burden for a company, as they tie up capital without generating any revenue.

## Terms and formula

* **SKU**: Stock Keeping Unit, a unique identifier for your product variants.

* **Product published date**: when the product has been published on Shopify.

* **Units sold**: how many units sold of products in a certain period.

* **Stock on hand**: the current stock levels of each product.

* **Last received date**: the last time received inventory from suppliers.

* **Last received units**: how many arrived units at the last time received inventory from suppliers.

* **Aged days**: how many days since the last received date.

## Filters and conditions

* This report shows the inventory is in stock but received more than 30 days (the aged days > 30). However, you can change the filter condition to get the products that were in stock longer. e.g. 180 days.
